Billetworkz Short Shifter – GR Corolla 2023+ / Corolla Hatchback 2019+

Is amazing!

Picked this up for my 2020 Corolla Hatchback and it feels amazing and more engaging when going through all the gears

Installed this in my 2014 Corolla (Toyota has used the same shifter assembly for a while) and it's an absolute game changer. Feels like a totally different vehicle now. I did have to use a Dremel to trim away a bit of the assembly to smooth out reverse, but it was barely any extra work. Simple and fun install!

This short shifter works like a dream. The color is a little bit darker in person but still love it nun the less. The kit has every thing you would need and it fit I think better the OEM. Over all the shifter performs better than I thought it would and very happy with it. The only thing that you really need to make sure you have is a set of snap ring pliers before you start the install. I really think that every stick shift should came with this type of shifter. I will be a customer for life thanks everyone at Billetworkz.

I’m not typically the type to leave reviews, but feel this purchase deserves one. First I’ll say that I ordered this shifter and it arrived very quickly. I started the install on a Saturday, got everything back together and car would not go in reverse. Took it back apart and looked everything over and had trouble figuring out why the reverse lockout collar would not raise enough to go into reverse. There are 0 instructions in the package, only a business card that gives you a QR code to scan for instructions and when you follow that link you have to pick your make/model. They don’t have any Toyota’s listed so I’m SOL. I watched billetworkz installation video which was somewhat helpful but did not allude to what the problem was. Thankfully I found another persons install video and could see that billetworkz sent me the wrong reverse lockout collar. I contacted them on Easter Sunday and the owner of the company replied that same day. He promptly got the correct part shipped out and I’m back in business. My only real gripe is that my car was unusable for almost a week and while they did respond with apologies VERY quickly, and shipped the correct part out, I kind of expected them to try to retain me as a future customer and offer a reason to make another purchase. All good though, and I absolutely love the shifter. Makes it feel like a whole different animal. Great shifter. Would have given 5* if it wasn’t for being without a car for almost a week without offering something for my troubles(coming from someone also in customer service, I absolutely would have). Communication is 10/10.

I have yet to install this set but have heard nothing but good reviews on these. I look forward to getting these installed so I can experience them for myself. Absolutely love the color!!

Upon purchase of a new GRC the first aftermarket item replaced was the OEM shift knob going with Billetworkz titanium short tear drop weighted knob. Shortly after I broke down and ordered the short throw shifter with red anodized reverse lock out that looks and feels great. Shifting throws are a bit closer and feel more mechanical providing a more intentional exhilarating driving experience. The provided spacers did extend the assembly up maybe 1/4” however everything fit back together for a clean OEM updated look. Great product of which both knob and shifter assembly materials/precision construction are of very good long lasting quality.

Great product , short shifter paired with mwr short shift kit with bushings.
Loved the shorten throw, but too short because of leverage. 1.5 to 2 inch extension with weighted shift knob recommended due to leverage issue shifting into gears.
Perfect afterwards. Bonus on this item is reverse lockout size decreased. Have much more shift knob selections to select from. Not limited.

Amazing quality as always. Very happy with the new shifter. Great and necessary upgrades.

I had trouble finding time to install it, but when I did it was amazing. The throws are short, but also, the notchiness of the shifter makes me more confident in my shifts. With the OEM shifter I would miss gears sometimes. I also noticed my clutch feels way better, and second doesn't grind as bad. Overall a great product!

Works great. Doesn’t feel like you’re driving a truck anymore. Installation was smooth. Highly recommend

Love the look, love the feel of the reverse lockout, and love how the throws feel shorter. I have mine paired up with the Racer X short throw shifter and cable end bushings. It feels more mechanical and just a great overall feel.
Install was not bad just sucked removing the lock washer. Other than that the install video was great and very useful.

Fortunately i already purchased a shift knob and reverse lockout adapter so I didn't need a lock nut (which it didn't come with).

Overall I'm very pleased with this product and happy that i made this purchase. Makes driving my GR that much better.

Everything was perfect. Shifts feel more precise with the shifter and weighted knob.

The shifter works as intended, shorter travel and faster shifts. The only issue is that in the instruction video it shows that they have a lock nut. It doesn’t come with a lock nut. So any oem knob will stay loose or over tight and prevent the reverse lockout from fully unlocking the reverse. Also the provided spacer cause slight fitment issue with the shifter cover. It will easily pop out if bumped/smacked slightly hard.

Very high quality piece, relatively simple install. Shifts are much more direct and feel much better compared to the vague feeling factory shifter. Only complaint is if using the factory shift knob, when fully installed, there is not enough of a relief to pull up the reverse lockout completely. I had to make a small spacer to go between the shift knob and shift lever to gain proper clearance for the reverse lockout.
