Billetworkz 4-Inch Shift Knob Extender – Ford Focus ST / RS and Fiesta ST

Was a bit hesitant at first. My wife bought me the black Billetworkz globe shift knob with the Japanese numbers. Really improved the shift feel with the heavier mass. I wanted to add more red accents to the car interior and saw the 2-inch extender. Install was flawless, just a little playing with the rotation on the locking nut/insert and some thread lock and it looked great....
...but wow it looked taller than I imagined! But one drive and I was sold. I'm really long legged, and never noticed how much I'm slightly twisting to shift (been driving manual cars for 40 years). So much nice now, and shift feel is even better. Timing took a few drives to get used to, but with the.shift knob higher you get a bit of a rally car sequential shift feel to it.
Really love the product, finish is excellent, end result beyond what I needed!

Was looking for an extension for my GR C shifter as the stock was a bit low for my personal tastes (6'2" and 290 ish , gravitational mass made it uncomfortable some days) , looked around and read reviews figured out this would work for me. Used the provided nut to keep the reverse lockout working . Looks great , improves the feel a lot and when I am lazy? It acts as a impromptu arm rest !

Just want to start out by saying that billetworkz is a great company to work with, they genuinely care. Next this extender is incredible it looks great perfect color for me and paired with my shift knob I think it’s a great combo. The height of the extender makes shifting a breeze and puts your hand in a very comfortable position. I will definitely do business with billetworkz again.

I have the Billetworkz short throw shifter on as well, but I won’t go into details on the shifter until I make a review on that.

I originally had on the 2 inch extender on and that felt pretty good. However, I thought what the hell, there’s a sale on accessories and I’ll try the 4 inch. It felt pretty big and the hand placement took some getting used to, but I felt like the extra extra long handle has made my transmission shift just a liiiiiiittle better over the 2 inch (transmission issues from the start when I got it). I feel like I can shift better from 4th to 5th with the 4 inch on than the 2 inch and WAY better over no extender at all. It still makes me giggle from time-to-time when I see its glory in the sun and how ridiculous it probably looks, but it definitely has wow factor for sure.

I will say you should have a small crescent wrench in your glovebox with some painter’s tape on there to tighten it down just a little more when you need to. Maybe I wasn’t tightening it on tight enough, but I felt like it was coming loose a little bit. I got it to wear it wasn’t wiggling loose. No big deal.

In summary: Great given you have the short throw shifter on.

When I first got it and put it on it made me laugh every time I got in the car because it just looked so funny. I felt like a trucker with those huge shifters. But when I started to drive… my transmission has had problems (Scion FR-S, first gen BRZ problems), but I felt like a little more leverage helped just to get the damn thing into gear better. It was really enjoyable to drive with the stock shifter. It just felt good. I don’t really know how to describe it. Not sure how the 4 inch feels like, but to me the 2 inch has the correct height. (But if I had a friend with the 4 inch, I would try it immediately for the laughs.) The car is always fun to drive, but it freshened her up a bit. I wish I would have bought this sooner. But now I have on the Billetworkz short throw shifter… but you’ll have to wait for that review.

Overall: It looks great, makes the shifts feel good (maybe objectively, maybe subjectively), and it still makes me giggle when I “wake up” and go “oh yeah, this thing looks ridiculous and it’s fantastic”. Definitely worth the buy. It earns 5 stars with ease.

Bought this on the recommendation of email exchange with a BW employee.
At the time I didn’t want to exchange the “sti” version I bought that fit well just got in the way of the reverse lockout a little.
I was enjoying it well enough and wasn’t going to ask BW to hassle with it even though they offered.
Fast forward a few weeks later and I bought the recommended rs/st version.
Works perfectly with the lockout now! No dragging and it still looks great with the BW “clown nose” red ball shifter .
Top notch service (even when the customer is stubborn) and perfect quality product.

I have tried numerous shift knobs and multiple height variations. Wish I would have tried this extension first, would have saved me a lot of money in knobs. I have the factory short throw shifter, with Group N rear mount and Kartboy front mount. I have paired the assembly with the optional factory delrin knob and 2" extension and wow. You get the crisp shifts still while have that bit more leverage. Something often overlooked, but I am 6'3" and I need to sit further back. You need that extra reach on the shifter but you don't want too much extra that makes it feel like shifting mush. This 2" extension bridges that gap beautifully.

Great fit and finish. Works great when you want hand closer to wheel during shifts. Not sure if it’s right for me but none the less a perfect extension.

I've had the full Billetworkz short throw shifter kit installed in my car for about three months. This extender is an absolute game changer! I wish I would have bought it right away... Looks awesome and makes my shifts feel smooth as butter! 100% would recommend!

Perfect fit and finish, looks like it came factory in my 2021 wrx. Must have option if you’re tired of hitting drinks in cup holders while shifting. Billetworkz never disappoints!

Main reason I bought this was as another person said they can now use their cup holder again and that was KEY!!! However it gives you the ability of cup holder usage for rando things you will no longer knock out of the cup holder AND everything is right there in reach of the shifter ohhh AND AND shifting feels soooo much smoother. This extender is perfectly functional with the factory reverse lockout and was perfect since I already had the sledge shift knob.

The communications from the company were top notch. Great unit. Finish and precision are perfect. It fits well with my knob and the basic oem SS....one can get to reverse and stay on the top.
