Need to eliminate shift boot gap? Our Boot Retainer will get the job done!
Thread on our Boot Retainer below your shift knob and use the included low-profile zip tie to attach the shift boot.
Our Boot Retainers also feature a hidden set of wrench flats to align the shift knob engraving.
If using a Billetworkz Shift Knob, you will have the ability to set the height of the shift knob. The shift knob can sit down on the flange, or raised up for added height. The height will be dependent on the threaded insert installed in the knob. If the threaded insert is recessed in the knob, the knob will sit on the flange of the Boot Retainer. If the threaded insert is flush with the bottom of the knob, the knob will sit at the higher height and expose the Boot Retainer. Additional threaded inserts for height adjustability are available for an additional charge.
Designed to fit and function with all Billetworkz shift knobs, but will also fit with other shift knobs.
Machined from 6061 aluminum, polished by hand to a mirror finish, and anodized for color.
Fitment:
10x1.25mm Universal - Designed to function with Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Infiniti shift boots. (Will also fit all 10x1.25mm shifters)
10x1.5mm Universal - Designed to function with Honda and Acura shift boots. (Will also fit all 10x1.5mm shifters)
12x1.25mm Universal - Designed to function with Toyota shift boots and aftermarket Subaru shift boots. (Will also fit all 12x1.25mm shifters)
Subaru 5-Speed - Designed to function specifically with the factory shift boot.
Ford Mustang (2005-14) - Designed to function specifically with the factory shift boot.
Toyota Tacoma Manual (2005+) - Designed to function specifically with the factory shift boot.
VW GTI/Golf R/Jetta/GLI Manual (MK4-MK8) - Designed to function specifically with the factory shift boot and Billetworkz Shift Knob. Will not work with other shift knobs.
Will not fit vehicles that have a reverse lockout.
ordered a 10x1.25 shift boot retainer and it didn’t even screw on. i don’t know what size it was but i know my size was correct because my aftermarket shift knob is 10x1.25. i ended up throwing it out and taking the L. also it didn’t work with my greddy grex shift knob

Second perfect shift knob I've ordered. I should have ordered the collar the first time around with my first knob. Great fit
constantly bullied by my friends about my shift knob “boot sag”, after installation (pretty easy, had to look up a youtube video but it’s straight forward for the most part) fits and looks amazing! Only thing I wish is if it came with more “boot ties”. The ziptie my retainer came with broke so I had to use a regular ziptie. works fine but the regular ziptie has a ‘knub’ the Billetworkz one does not. would be nice if when you bought the retainer it came with an extra tie or two if a mistake is made on install. otherwise would definitely get this for any manual car that needs a retainer!!
Makes a nice connection for aftermarket shifter knobs without boot collars. Threads perfectly over the stick, boot fits snugly over the collar. Don't let your shifter boot flop loose like a wizard sleeve.
