Our Short Throw Shifters reduce throw by ~35%. Our Shifter Plates reduce throw by ~30%. When the two are combined, throw is reduced by ~55%.
Purchase the Shifter Stop to compliment the Short Throw Shifter and purchase the Shifter Bushing to compliment the Shifter Plate.
Short Throw Shifter:
Our Short Shifter features the shortest shifts compared to all other 2015+ WRX Short Shifters on the market. We also designed our Short Shifter to be more comfortable and ergonomic than others (no hitting your hand on the e-brake handle when shifting into second). The included Reverse Lockout is CNC machined from 6061 and anodized for a vibrant and durable finish. The Shifter Rod is machined from 304 SS. SS Hardware is included. We also include o-rings in the reverse lockout assembly to eliminate rattle (o-rings will need to be lubricated, we recommend 3-in-1 oil.
Shifter Stop:
Our Shifter Stop is designed to significantly reduce the amount of slop when in 1st and 2nd gear by limiting (or stopping) the lateral movement. When adjusted correctly, 1st and 2nd gear can be easily engaged with a very precise feel.
Shifter Plate:
The Billetworkz Short Shifter Transmission Plate replaces the factory shifter plate, but reduces the shift throw by changing the pivot points. Our short shifter plate is designed to be slightly heavier than the factory shifter plate (without being too heavy) to offset the shorter throw. (935 grams)
Shifter Bushing:

Yes! The Short Shifter, Shifter Plate, Shift Stop, and Shifter Bushing for the 2015+ WRX Kit all fit perfectly into the 2nd generation Crosstrek!
INSTALLATION:
Install was a breeze, with no issues and was able to complete it in my garage with a set of ramps and chock blocks (with a 2” lift) though it is very important to have the proper tools such as, the snap ring pliers and a punch. You can get away with using needle nose pliers on the snap ring. But with out a punch, the Short Shifter and Shifter plate will be impossible. The install video that Billetworkz provided on YT, applies almost perfectly to the Crosstrek. The only slight difference is the removal of the center console. But seriously, overall one of the smoothest installs I’ve completed.
Now, the review on the entire kit itself.
FUNCTIONALITY:
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I now again have that short throw, and notchy mechanical feel as I have and love in my older cars. For reference it feels comparable to my S2000’s (OEM) shift throws now. Which is insane to think about! I have this kit paired up with the Billetworkz Extension and Shift Knob, and even with that the throws are shorter compared to OEM.
All of the slop going into 1st and 2nd is virtually nonexistent now! The only amount of give I get is going into 5th. Due to the factory shift stop/reverse lock out stop. Naturally it can’t be angled to suit both 5th and 6th to be solid. But in 6th gear you will be able to fine tune it, making it solid. Makes me wonder if Billetworkz will be planning to make one for the other side, and if they do, I’m definitely getting it!
Over all the craftsmanship, attention to detail, in their products is stellar! And being quick to ship is the cherry on top!
I have a 2010 6speed outback and got this short shifter kit. Every piece fit because they share the same parts with the wrx. The shifter feels great and feels like a dramatic reduction. Highly recommend if you have a manual outback 2010-11. Cannot promise it'll fit after words due to the slight change in drivetrain.
Billetworkz Short Throw Shifter, Billetworkz Shift Plate, Perrin Shift Stop, and Perrin Shifter Bushing. Each of these parts has improved the shift feel a ton. Super short, doesn't even feel like the shifter moves. Feels very tight, and takes much more effort to move it between gears, but I no longer have that "shifting through a bag of rocks" feel in my shifter.
I'd say if you don't want TOO short, maybe consider just getting the Shift Plate without the shifter.
Ordered the entire kit..the shifter the plate and a 3in extender with a shift knob
..the extender was only because I'm taller and don't like reaching so low from the short throw being very very short lol but it doesn't lengthen the throw and if anything makes it even easier to shift because now I have more leverage...all in all the shifter and plate made a huge difference over the stock oem short throw for the 15+wrx...but after I also added the weighted shift knob and the extender...holy hell...now I dnt even have to try to get into 1st gear it slides in like butter...used to be I couldn't always manage to get into 1st unless I went into 2nd then into 1st but now; now it doesn't matter....still engaging feeling but yet so smooth..and the colors are amazing as well....10/10 would recommend...
Installed it myself in my driveway...took all day cuz the pin doesn't like to come out..also needed a stronger drill thst could handle the torqued bolts ok the transmission support brackets but otherwise pretty smooth.
